Sad Stuff

We had a great weekend, but we have had some very sad news in the last few days.

#1 - we found out Friday that Scott's Dad has Renal (Kidney) Cancer. We don't know any details yet about if it is limited to just the one kidney or what. So please be praying for Scott's Dad as we go through this new journey.

#2 - Jackson's babysitters are quitting! I am so bummed about this. We love Cheryl & Michelle. They are the kind of sitters that I have never once questioned them, Jack has never thrown a fit when I left there, he loves them. He asks to call them on the weekends. I totally understand their decision to stop, but dang it! I love them, I need them. I have found somewhere for Jackson to go, but my heart is sad.

I think this is all, they say bad news runs in three's - lets hope not!

On a funny note my husband has decided to join the Mehlville Fire Department's St. Baldrick's team. This is a fundraiser for childhood cancer, and the participants shave their heads. So March 6th I will be seeing my husband bald for the first time. If anyone is interested in donating please follow the link here.

The Cutest!

I was finally able to get some cute pics of my kids, professional pics that is. Jackson does not like to get his picture taken, but he sure did this time. Here are some of my favorites.

Weight Loss Update

Ok, so last week I didn't post my weight loss - because it was not a loss. It was a gain - one pound to be exact. But this week I have a loss - still just a pound but a loss. So I have lost a total of 5. Not just falling off but slow and steady.

Giving Credit Where Credit is Due!

Apparently today is my day to be very spiritual, not that I am not a spirit filled woman, I just don't always share alot. Anyway, here is a story about my husband. . .

For those who may not know Scott is a fire fighter/paramedic for Mehlville Fire Protection District in St Louis. He loves his job and I am so proud of him and the work he does. I now need to brag about him for a bit.

In school we have been learning about cardiology stuff, this is one of Scott's best subjects and he is very, very good at it. Maybe it is because of the heart problems his dad had, I am not sure, but he is an ace at heart stuff so naturally I have turned to him for help. The other day he called to brag a bit about his "first clinical save of the year", which means in laymans terms he saved someone's life. (He has been on the pumper for most of this year so he hasn't ran alot of medical calls). The reason he was telling me about it was because he wanted to let me know he had some really cook EKG strips to show me and wanted me to know how he did it for my own education purposes. All night I kept thinking about what he had done, his patient was about to have a fatal heart attack and because my husband was there and got him into the ambulance quickly his family never saw him go unconscious, they never saw him be shocked by a defribillator, and when Scott wheeled him on the stretcher into the hospital he was talking away to his family. Oh the outcome could have been so different. . .

(Let me interject here that I don't think my husband has any amazing powers, any paramedic would have done the same thing, but this story is about the one I call mine)

The next morning I sent my husband a text to praise him for his abilities, here is the way the text went:
Me: It is so awesome that u saved a life last night. U should be so proud!
Scott: Nah...somebody else was responsible for that outcome

Is that not the most awesome thing?! I think it is! How wonderful it is to know that when my husband is saving someone's life he is so keenly aware that God is in control, he is just there as a vessel to do God's work.

Truly Amazing Miracle

My sister had a post about this precious little boy, Bronson who had a horrifying accident. His mom has shared every detail of the accident and all the miracles that occured along he way to recovery. She shared the amazing strength her husband showed her, she talked about how they and their other three boys fasted for Bronson, and she very candidly talked about the events of the day this all happened. I have been heartbroken by this story from the first post, I think mostly because as a mom I can honestly say I have been guilty of doing the exact thing she did (you will have to read it yourself to find out, take Kleenex). Not now! I will never be so preoccupied with laundry again in my life. Anyway, back to the miracle, today they finally figured out what was causing Bronson to remain so sedated. And when they took him off the medicine, well you have to read for yourself! God truly heals all thing!

Bye Bye . . .

to two more pounds! Yeah! I really didn't eat the greatest this week and I hadn't been drinking my water so I was kinda nervous for our weigh in today, but I lost two more pounds for a total of 5 in two weeks! Our team lost a total of 7.5 this week. I am so excited for us!
